See the beach where the hapless castaways are marooned in the opening credits of Gilligan's Island.
  • Kaua‘i through the Eyes of Hollywood

Over the years, Kaua‘i's beauty has provided the perfect backdrop for movies and television shows.

    On this adventure you will…

    • Take an included, 25-minute interisland flight from Honolulu International Airport to Lihue Airport. Transfer to an air-conditioned minicoach, on your way to 6 magical hours of movie and television locations.
    • Start with Wailua Falls and its gorgeous, rain-soaked vegetation. This tributary to historic Wailua River has been a location for television's Fantasy Island, Dragonfly, Castaway Cowboy and The Amazing Race, as well as the movie comedy Tropic Thunder.
    • Continue to Hanamā‘ulu, a gorgeous bay that has played a role in Donovan's Reef, Pagan Love Song, Six Days Seven Nights and Voodoo Island.
    • Proceed to Opaeka‘a Falls, which was featured prominently in the comedy, Lt. Robin Crusoe, USN, and the campy war drama, Seven Women from Hell. This 151-foot cascade was another of the locations used in Donovan's Reef as well.
    • Drive on to Kaua‘i Sands Beach, Kapa‘a Town and Aliomanu Bay to see locations for Tropic Thunder, Jurassic Park, Six Days Seven Nights and Voodoo Island.
    • Visit Moloa‘a Bay, which classic sitcom fans will recognize as the uncharted beach in the credits of Gilligan's Island. It also appears in Castaway Cowboy.
    • Stop at Tahiti Nui, Hanalei Valley and Hanalei Bay, next, for a look at some locations used in The Descendants, Uncommon Valor and Miss Sadie Thompson.
    • End your movie tour at Hanalei Pier, another site for Miss Sadie Thompson. The pier is also featured in The Wackiest Ship in the Army, South Pacific, Beachhead and Acapulco Gold.

Over the years, Kaua‘i's beauty has provided the perfect backdrop for movies and television shows.
